RSKO Jakarta Provides Free Eye Health Screening at Cibubur Urban Village as Part of National Eye Care Month 2026

Monday, July 27, 2026β€”The Community Hall of Cibubur Urban Village was livelier than usual as members of the Family Welfare Empowerment Team (TP PKK) of Cibubur Urban Village gathered for their regular monthly meeting.

As part of the event, RSKO Jakarta (Jakarta Drug Dependence Hospital) provided a free eye health screening service, offering participants direct access to preventive healthcare and raising awareness of the importance of maintaining good vision.

This community outreach initiative was held in commemoration of National Eye Care Month 2026, an annual campaign organized by the Indonesian Ophthalmologists Association (PERDAMI). In collaboration with the Cibubur Urban Village administration, RSKO Jakarta delivered eye screening services to promote the early detection of vision problems within the community.

A total of four participants underwent comprehensive eye examinations conducted by the medical team. Although the number of participants was relatively small, each individual received personalized assessments, allowing healthcare professionals to provide detailed information about their eye health and recommend appropriate follow-up care when necessary.

The outreach team from RSKO Jakarta consisted of seven members:

  • Nur'Aini Muslikha, SE., MM – Team Leader
  • dr. Nita Nurlaila Kadarwaty, Sp.M. – Ophthalmologist
  • dr. Ainur Rahman
  • Rafi Triani, S.Kep., Ners.
  • Firdaus Komarudin
  • Andri Mastiyanto, SKM
  • Mukhrizi (Pancaraya)

The multidisciplinary team reflects RSKO Jakarta's strong commitment to supporting community health through preventive and health promotion initiatives.

During the program, dr. Nita Nurlaila Kadarwaty, Sp.M., an ophthalmologist at RSKO Jakarta, conducted eye examinations while educating participants on the importance of maintaining eye health. She emphasized that many eye conditions develop gradually and often progress without noticeable symptoms, making routine eye examinations essential for early detection and timely intervention before more serious complications occur.

For participants, the program offered more than just free eye examinations. It also provided valuable education on practical ways to protect eye health in everyday life. The friendly interaction between the healthcare team and community members created a welcoming atmosphere that encouraged learning and open communication.

Through initiatives such as this, RSKO Jakarta continues to reaffirm its role not only as a healthcare provider but also as a trusted community partner dedicated to improving public health through preventive care, health education, and community engagement.

The collaboration between RSKO Jakarta and the Cibubur Urban Village administration within the TP PKK forum serves as an excellent example of how interagency partnerships can deliver meaningful health benefits directly to the community.

The spirit of National Eye Care Month 2026 serves as a reminder that healthy vision is a vital investment in overall well-being and quality of life. Among the 49 participants who attended the event that morning, there was a shared hope that awareness of the importance of eye health would continue to grow and extend throughout families and the wider community.

Because seeing clearly is not only about visionβ€”it is about preserving quality of life for a healthier and brighter future.
